Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) revealed that the Kangdong Jahwal Center (head Lim Jong-hun) was selected an excellent institution at the 2020 Simple Evaluation of Local Self-sufficiency Centers conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

This evaluation for self-sufficiency was conducted at 249 local self-sufficiency centers throughout the country by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for efficient operation of the self-sufficiency trade.

The Kangdong Jahwal Center was highly evaluated for its rate of change in the number of participants in the self-sufficiency program compared to the previous year, the percentage of new members of the Naeil Kium bankbook, earnings from the self-sufficiency work group, and increase in sales. The center received a high evaluation for inspiring the low-income classes to work and for creating new jobs. The center made the list of the fifty most excellent institutions in the city.

As an excellent institution, the Kangdong Jahwal Center received the support of additional operational costs, bonuses for workers, and personnel expenses for the additional hiring of workers by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The support will be used to discover customized programs for the self-sufficiency of low-income classes, revitalize operations of self-sufficiency programs, and encourage workers.

  Mayor Lee Jung-hun commented, “I’d like to thank the head and the employees of the center for their hard work in the self-sufficiency programs for the low-income classes in the district. We will continue to make efforts to cooperate with the Kangdong Jahwal Center to revitalize the self-sufficiency programs and support low-income residents.”

The rank of the Kangdong Jahwal Center was elevated from the average rank to the expanded rank as a result of this year’s evaluation, and the center will receive additional operational costs from the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the next three years
