  • The World Health Organization (WHO) defines a 'healthy city' as: "one that is continually creating and improving their physical and social environments and expanding their community resources which enable people to mutually support each other in performing all the functions of life and developing to their maximum potential"

  • Gangdong-gu served as 5th and 6th chair of the Korea Healthy Cities Partnership (KHCP). Currently, it serves as the chair of the Steering Committee of the Alliance for Healthy Cities (AFHC) Asia-Pacific. Gangdong-gu is promoting health-friendly policies with the "Health in All Policies" (HiAP) initiative. Gangdong-gu is proactively promoting the "Healthy City Gangdong" project, aiming to establish itself as a sustainable and healthy city.

  • Various programs are being promoted to plan the "Healthy City Gangdong" project. With the aim of creating a healthy living environment enjoyed and co-created by all residents, Gangdong-gu will establish an equitable and healthy environment by responding to climate changes, ensuring a clean and clear living environment for all.
