Gangdong-gu is operating the urban regeneration community gathering “Youth Table”. Through this activity, young people who are mostly living alone in Amsa-dong prepare and have a dinner together once a week. They go grocery shopping at Amsa Traditional Market and gather at the Amsa Community Center. They cook and have dinner together and interact with other people.

In addition to the Youth Table, Gangdong-gu is planning to open a flea market named “I’m the Boss.” In this flea market, young people can sell handmade jam, bracelets, etc.

Youth Table Leader Won Bo-ra said, “Young locals created a youth community to communicate and interact with each other. We are awaiting for the participation of many young people.”

Gangdong-gu has been conducting the Amsa-dong Urban Regeneration Project under the slogan, “The historical and cultural village run by residents,” since 2015. In order to promote the urban regeneration project led by citizens, it opened the Amsa Community Center in a building (2F) located in Amsa Traditional Market (501-16, Amsa 1-dong) in April of last year.

The Amsa Community Center is a multipurpose place that is being used on a trial basis before the construction of an anchor institution for community programs. The community center consisting of Community Kitchen, Community Nursery, Community Lunch Box Kitchen, etc. is currently used and run by nine communities.
