Gangdong-gu is staying strong despite the cold weather this winter with their warm-hearted sharing minds. <2017 Hope Sharing Campaign Fundraising Event for Warm Winter> was held at the Hyundai Department Store Plaza in Cheonho-dong at 1 O’clock on the 28th of this month.

  The event was organized by the Community Chest of Korea and D’Live. Public and private organizations worked together to broadcast the event live and promote outreach activities and donation programs.

  The event was filled with people who were willing to share their love despite the freezing weather.

  The fundraising event was held on the main stage. There were various booths for ▲a charity bazaar, ▲food trucks that sold warm fish cakes and tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cake), and ▲calligraphy (handwriting) at the Hyundai Department Store. All of the profits of the charity bazaar and food trucks will be donated.

  The mayor of Gangdong-gu donated the funds his staff members voluntarily raised.

  Mayor Lee said, “I would like to sincerely thank all of those who participated in the event to help out their neighbors despite the cold weather. I hope this event will provide an opportunity to share our warmth for each other and boost the sharing culture.”

  Meanwhile, the residents of Cheonho-dong kept their winter nice and warm by giving out coal briquettes for their neighbors who are in need.
