Subject The use of idle space in Gangdong-gu, this time into a village broadcasting station

The empty space of the Cheonho 1-dong Community Center located in Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung hun) was reborn into a wonderful space for residents through the remodeling process.

In the city of Cheonho 1-dong Community Center (59, Gucheon-myeon-ro 42-gil, Gangdong-gu), the Cross Seongdang Senior Citizens Center, which used to be located on the first basement floor of the Cheonho 1-dong Community Center building, was relocated in November last year. On the 23rd of May, it was announced that the remodeling work has been completed, including the creation of a broadcasting station led by the very residents themselves and a shared program room made for the residents.

It is more meaningful in that it has been reborn as a space for residents of all ages so that it can be shared by residents of all ages as the opinions of residents are evenly reflected in the entire process from the initial design stage to the time of its completion.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, “I hope that the Cheonho 1-dong Village Broadcasting Station will be a model case that can be expanded to the entire Gangdong-gu with novel contents that everyone can freely easily participate in.”

In the future, Cheonho 1-dong Village Broadcasting Station will live up to its name and will be directly operated by the residents and will be used as a communication channel to convey the joys and sorrows of the region. It is expected to lead resident-led projects for activating the community mind of the Gangdong-gu village community.
