Subject Gangdong-gu, Myeongil 1-dong Community Service Center, temporary government building relocation.

As the Myeongil 1-dong Community Center in Gangdong-gu (mayor Lee Jung hun) was scheduled to be demolished due to the promotion of the Gangdong Advanced Complex Complex Development Project, it moved to a temporary government building (1634, 2nd floor) and held an opening ceremony on the 23rd.

The Gangdong High-tech Complex Complex Development Project began to be promoted last year and is underway for residents who felt uncomfortable due to the situation of the existing Myeongil 1-dong Community Center, which was aging and narrow in space. Therefore, a temporary government building was established for this project.

The newly relocated building houses the Dong Community Center, Gangdong-gu Family Center, and the District Youth Center Daycare Center (scheduled for moving in at the end of February), and is located right in front of Exit 3 and 4 of Myeongil Station on Subway Line 5, providing convenience for residents.

The opening ceremony was held in the order of facility viewing and tape cutting, attended by a minimum number of people under the COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, including Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun and other local residents.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, "We expect the Gangdong High-tech Complex to greatly contribute to the revitalization of the local economy by improving the quality of life for local residents and securing happy housing and parking lots in traditional markets."

Meanwhile, the Gangdong Advanced Complex will be integrated with the existing government building and the youth center site to build a community center, swimming pool, daycare center, family center, and happy house with five basement floors and 15 ground floors, and will be completed in the second half of 2024.
