Gangdong-gu Creates Experiential ParkFilled with Herbal Fragrances, Restricted development zone changed into resident-centered, eco-friendly park - Link to various herb experience programs expected to play healing role for residents

 Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) will create the Herb Experience Park in connection with the Herb Astronomy Park at Iljasan Mountain.


 The restricted development zone on national land (575-3, Dunchon-dong), where herbs supplied to the Herb Astronomy Park were grown, was selected as the restricted development zone resident support project (park project) held by the Ministry ofLand,InfrastructureandTransporttoreceive a free loan and government funding of KRW 400 million.

 

 The scale of the park will be 3,454m2 and with an addition of KRW 100 million, the total project budget will be KRW 500 million.

 

 The urban facility planning and process to change the restricted development zone into a park was completed, and the zone will be reborn as a resident-centered, eco-friendly park this October after Urban Park Committee's review.


Gangdong-gu will create the Herb Experience Center, walking trail, small-scale rest area, portable toilets, and drinking fountains in connection with the existing programs like the Five Senses Herb Experience Class, Make My Own Herb Pot, and the Herb School Garden Farm for residents to experience herbs throughout all seasons and relax.
