Gangdong-gu, headed by Mayor Lee Jung-hun, announced its BI (brand identity) which visualizes the new administrative goal of ‘A Happy Gangdong’ of the 7th popular elections.

Last July, a contest for selecting the administrative goal was held among the public officials of Gangdong-gu Office, and a total of 640 suggestions were received amongst which word cloud (key term extraction) analysis was used in a three-fold review to choose the final goal. To actualize ‘A Happy Gangdong,’ the selected guidelines for the administrative goal is ‘inclusive city development, life-empowering welfare, innovation of the future.’ The slogan is ‘A people-centered Gangdong opening up the future.’

The BI for the administrative goal incorporates the color pink with a warm and cozy sensation and the color green that symbolizes hope. Above the wording is a design of residents holding hands, and contains the meaning of the administrative goal of creating a happy Gangdong food for anyone to live in.

The district plans to use the BI as a foundation and create various applied forms and use it in various publicizations for four years. To celebrate the production of the administrative goal BI, Gangdong-gu will hold a calligraphy event. Any resident who wants can participate by writing ‘더불어 행복한 강동’ (A Happy Gangdong) by hand and submitting their work via mail (25, Seongnae-ro, Gangdong-gu Office Public Relation Division ‘Gangdong-gu News’) or e-mail (extragangdong@gmail.com). Participants can also follow the Gangdong-gu Newsletter Instagram account ‘extra_gangdong’ and upload their work with the designated hashtag (#강동구소식 (gangdonggunews)). Selected works will be published in the Gangdong Newsletter and winners will receive a gift certificate worth KRW 50,000.
