Gangdong-gu (Mayor: Lee Hae-sik) opened the ‘Gangdong English Experience Center,’ that supports foreign language programs centered on experience and participation, on the third floor of Myeongil-dong, Gangdong-gu Lifelong Learning Center (395, Gucheonmyeon-ro, Gangdong-gu) on the 11th.

 The ‘Gangdong English Experience Center’ was founded to satisfy the demands for an after school care center and English education by students and parents.

 In cooperation with the All-Day After School Care School offering low-cost, high-efficiency English programs, the center provides various English programs and learning opportunities for children while offering parents a caring service that they can feel safe entrusting their children to. The center further plans to actualize a tailored education welfare program.

  The Gangdong English Experience Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and is targeted at children ages 5~6 and elementary school students.

 The center plans to regularly operate high-quality educational programs that enhance character and creativity such as ▲ the themed activity ‘Running Kids,’ which allows children to have fun while learning about nature, culture and science, ▲ ‘Smart Star English,’ a story-centered program for the development of child cognition and ▲ ‘Activity School,’ a program that combines English reading with English activities. There will also be occasional events such as the Gangdong Global Culture Experience Festival and a foreign language family camp as well as other special events. 

 Mayor Lee Hae-sik stated, “The educational role of an autonomous district is extremely important. We will continuously strive to help children improve their self-expression skills and become confident in speaking English through creative and experimental foreign language programs.”
