Cheonho Center - Home of the Blood Donation Expansion and Move! $- located on Rodeo Street in Cheonho-dong to expand and move; opening ceremony on the 8th- Expansion of space and extended operating hours; creation of a pleasant and comfortable blood donation environment

Gangdong-gu (Mayor: Lee Hae-sik) revealed that the “Cheonho Center Home of the Blood Donation” located on Rodeo Street in Cheonho-dong will expand and move to the 8th floor of its current building (8th Fl., Gangdong Bldg., 1033, Cheonho-daero).

The scale of the center was expanded to about twice its existing size and the hours of operation were also extended to 8 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays to give residents more opportunities to take part in donating blood in a pleasant and comfortable environment.

In the 261㎡ space, the Cheonho Center Home of the Blood Donation is equipped with nine chairs for blood donations, three blood plasma extractors, four platelet incubators, and seven blood collection monitors.

An official at the center commented, “With the expansion of the Cheonho Center, those donating blood will be able to more conveniently participate, in a more spacious area with a finer view. There is also a coffee machine, which we hope will contribute to making the Center a warm place where people can participate in donating blood together with their families and friends.”

In 2016, Gangdong-gu established regulations to promote blood donations and distributed publicity leaflets to encourage the active participation of citizens in donating blood. Gangdong-gu has remained active in encouraging citizens to donate.

The Korean Red Cross South Seoul Blood Bank’s “Cheonho Center Home of the Blood Donation” is open all year round from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
