On the 21st, Gangdong-gu will hold a World Heritage Listing Promotion Committee concerning the Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul.

The Listing Promotion Committee, which is composed of a total of 17 private specialists and city/district officials, was established in 2014 for the purpose of listing Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul as a World Heritage Site.

This year, the Promotion Committee will not only discuss the conditions and plans for the World Heritage listing projects in Gangdong-gu, but also plans to select the name of the museum for the museum registration after remodeling the exhibition hall.

A Gangdong-gu official said, "The aim for listing in the UNESCO World Heritage will take a long time, but we must be patient. While Gangdong-gu is making many preparations for the World Heritage listing of Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul, we ask for our residents' continuous support and interest."

Historical site no. 267 of Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul is noteworthy for possessing the traces of human settlement before the Neolithic Era of the Korean peninsula, which did not have proper agriculture, and is deemed to be an important antiquity that brought about the typical and artistic comb-pattern earthenware culture.
