Gangdong-gu will be holding the 'Neolithic Amsa-dong, Looking into the Culture,' special exhibition of relics excavated from the Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul, from the 13th to March 18 of next year.

This special exhibition has been planned through the results of an academic excavation survey conducted from 2016 to this year to re-explore the culture and lives of the people from the Neolithic Era, who based their settlement around the Hangang River Basin, and to reveal the archeological excavations.

Moreover, the exhibition will provide a variety of other things for visitors to see while the exhibit hall is closed due to remodeling.

The exhibition will introduce the formation process, discovery and investigational conditions of Amsa-dong relics, and focus on Neolithic culture and life in relation to the excavated relics.

The jade accessory and black stone among other excavated relics that will be part of the exhibition are particularly valuable as important research material for the art and exchange activities of the Neolithic people who lived in Amsa-dong.

Mayor of Gangdong-gu, Lee Hae-sik said, "By sharing the excavation results of the relics that will be displayed in the exhibition with our citizens, we expect to enhance national interest in the world heritage value of the Amsa-dong Site."

The exhibition is free of charge and the exhibition hours of operation is from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. It is closed on Jan. 1 and Mondays.
