On the morning of the 30th, Gangdong-gu held the <151st Gangdong-gu Mayor's Class> with 23 students who have completed the 3rd Gangdong School at the Iljasan Urban Agriculture Park located in Dunchon-dong.

The Gangdong School program is one of the animal welfare projects that Gangdong-gu is actively involved in that targets pets that require training for their misbehavior. The Gangdong-gu Mayor's Class was conducted immediately after the completion ceremony of the 3rd group of graduating students in a relaxing atmosphere along with the pets.

"Please make a pet playground so we can play with our pets"

"Please conclude an agreement with groomers and veterinary clinics to reduce the financial burden on pet owners"

The students who completed the course shared their various opinions and suggestions with the mayor such as policies regarding animal welfare and inconveniences experienced in daily life.

A resident who participated in the event while casually taking a stroll at the Urban Agriculture Park with his pet also proposed his opinion. Mayor Lee listened carefully to the suggestions of the participants, wrote down memos and provided responses right away.

The suggestions proposed on this day were responded to by Mayor Lee and issues that need further review were to be posted on the district website after review by the related department.

Mayor Lee Hae-sik said, "I thank everyone who participated today. I will continue to take interest in animal welfare with more detailed policies and create a Gangdong-gu in which people and pets can coexist happily."
