he Gangdong Sports Association is holding the 79th Gangdong Greenway Walking Contest on October 28 (Sat.) in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the "Healthy City Gangdong." The walking contest is jointly organized by the committee and Chung Hospital (Director Seong-hoon Cho) and is expected to be a meaningful event that attracts the interest and participation of the local community for the construction of healthy city infrastructure.

The 1-hour walking course begins at Iljasan Lawn Plaza traversing the Sunrise Plaza and Herb Astronomy Park, and then returning to the Lawn Plaza. Participants can get some exercise for their health and also enjoy various experiences at promotional booths. The prizes for this year's walking contest will include 10 bicycles, 20 boxes of Phellinus linteus mushrooms, 20 boxes of Seocheon laver and 6 boxes of Sanyang wild ginseng. In addition, water and fruit will be provided to all participants. Residents who wish to participate in the walking contest should gather at the Iljasan Lawn Plaza by 7:40 a.m. on the day of the event.

District affiliates said, "We ask for the participation of many residents as it will be a special event for families to get some exercise for their health and make enjoyable memories in commemoration of the Healthy City and the 10th anniversary of the Greenway Walking Contest."
