Comb-Pattern Pottery Solar Light $Becoming Gangdong-gu's Representative Brand

22-09-2017

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Hae-sik Lee) is producing a comb-pattern pottery solar light as a differentiated and representative souvenir for tourists visiting the district and the Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong.

Based on comb-pattern pottery, which was the flower of

the Neolithic Era living art, sunlight is directed to the

solar panel and delivered to the LED light bulb.

The size of the solar light is 1/4 the size of the actual pottery (40cm).

The three patterns of the comb-pattern pottery of Archaeological Site

in Amsa-dong, Seoul were reproduced and the light shines through the engraved patterns.

The souvenirs can be used as gifts for international exchange groups visiting the district, for management of sales booths during the Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong in the upcoming month, for various department events or for promotional purposes, and can be used on windows or car mirrors as night lights. There are assembled products (11,000 won) and DIY products (8,800 won), which can be ordered in units of 500.

For further inquiries, please contact the Gangdong-gu Office Culture & Sports Division (02-3425-5240).

The Mayor of Gangdong-gu said, "We hope that this souvenir will propagate the historical significance of comb-pattern pottery as a cultural heritage representative of the Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul and that the comb-pattern pottery solar light will enhance the historical and cultural value as a representative brand of Gangdong-gu and neolithic culture."
