The representative festival of Seoul Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Hae-sik), 'Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong' has won a total of two first prizes (Best Promotion Brochure, Best Children's Program) at the「2017 Pinnacle Awards」hosted by IFEA WORLD for the 4th consecutive year.

The「2017 Pinnacle Awards」is a competition that was established in 1987, which selects and awards competitive global festivals in 68 categories and 12 fields, and is often called the 'Olympics of events and festivals.'

Gangdong-gu won in five categories at the 2014 Pinnacle Awards (Promotional Video • Brochure • Photo • Poster • Invitation), three categories at the 2015 Pinnacle Awards (Sponsor Gift • Event Invitation • Distance Banner) and three categories at the 2016 Pinnacle Awards (Brochure • Invitation • Children's Program).

Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong's 4-year consecutive prizes proved its title as Korea's internationally-acknowledged representative festival.

The Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong, which is hosted annually at the Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul, is a unique festival that connects the past with the future in which visitors can experience the lives of our ancestors in prehistoric times. It began in 1996 and became Gangdong-gu's largest festival. The 22nd Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong of this year is planned to be held from October 13 to October 15 at the Seoul Amsadong Site.

Mayor Lee Hae-sik said, "In addition to our 4th consecutive awards at the Pinnacle Awards, we wish to make achievements in becoming a global festival and for the historically-acknowledged Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong, Seoul to become a World Heritage. We will further develop the Pre-historic Culture Festival into Korea's representative cultural tourism festival."
