At 10 a.m. on the 10th (Thu.) at the Seonsa Hyundai Apartment senior center in Gangdong-gu (Amsa-dong, 11, Sangam-ro, Gangdong-gu, Seoul), the opening ceremony for the Small Welfare Center was held. This is the second center to open since the opening of the Unmal Small Welfare Senior Center last year.

The 'Small Welfare Senior Center' is a space aimed at harmonizing the elderly and local residents by selecting a large-sized senior center and regularly operating popular programs at the welfare center.

Last year, Gangdong-gu renovated the Unmal Senior Center in the Seongnae Traditional Market into the 'Gangdong-gu Unmal Small Welfare Senior Center.' The senior center, which is reminiscent of the Sarangbang guest rooms for the elderly in the past, was transformed into a leisure culture center for the elderly and local residents.

Gangdong-gu plans to operate various weekly programs including 'tea meditation,' 'arts and crafts,' 'exercise,' 'singing' and 'table tennis' classes at the Seonsa Hyundai Apartment Small Welfare Center.

A Gangdong-gu official said, "The senior center is not a place just for the elderly, but has been reborn into a place for the harmonization of local community members. We ask for your interest and utilization of the Seonsa Hyundai Apartment Small Welfare Senior Center so that it may become a place of communication for local residents."
