||Gangdong-gu’s Child Self-Governing Center Dream Smile holds Children's Sports Day
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) holds a children's sports event tomorrow (11th).
It is an ambitious event planned by the Children's Self-Governing Center, Dream Smile, for children who have not been able to play freely due to COVID-19 for a long time, and it is held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, on the 11th at Hansan Elementary School's Grand Auditorium (Hanbit Building) in the name of ‘Run! GGumggumi!’.
Children from all 12 Dream Smile Centers will gather in one place starting with a talent show and take part in various sports activities such as gymnastics, tug-of-war, ball-pool basketball, and relay running with Dream Smile teachers. It also prepared fun programs such as O/X quizzes and group body language, and prepared cheering prizes to encourage children to participate actively.
Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Jung-hun said, "This sports day, which will be held for the first time in a long time, will be a valuable time for children and adolescents to gather together and experience cooperation and community spirit," adding, "I hope it will be an opportunity to release the stress from the long COVID-19 situation and studying and to grow up healthy."
Since the COVID-19 situation is not completely resolved, the sports day will be held safely in compliance with the quarantine guidelines, and it is expected that it will be a time for children who had limits with their actions to hang out and share fun.

Meanwhile, the Children Self-Governing Center ‘Dream Smile’ is a first and third-generation shared space used originally as a Senior Citizen’s Hall and additionally by children after school, currently operating its 12th store, and is a user-led space where children and teenagers under the age of 18 carry out their own programs.
