Subject Appointment of Children and Youth Commissioners in Gangdong-gu who lead the future on their own

Gangdong-gu (mayor Lee Jung hun) held an appointment ceremony yesterday at "Dream Smile" and "Children and Youth Future Headquarters" to appoint 50 children and adolescents from each institution as members.

“Dreamer” and “Future Committee” are self-governing committees representing “the Dream Smile” and “ Children and Youth Future Headquarters” each.
They will actively participate in the operation and leading the autonomous activities of children and adolescents.

Among the applicants who entered through open recruitment in February, 50 children and youth committee members selected through screening and interviews will be active for about nine months from April to the end of this year.

Last year, not only did bulletin boards and indoor spaces decorate for each branch, but also planned and implemented various programs such as "With Friend" promotional activities that directly introduce dream smiles to friends, "Dream trimming" at each branch competition, and promoting the meaning and importance of children's human rights.

This year, "Dreamer" and "Future Committee" will expand their scope to various participatory activities that do their part as democratic citizens, including participating in events and volunteer activities as part of local communities as well as in-house activities.

The appointment ceremony was held through ZOOM at each branch of Dream Smile and Future Headquarters in consideration of the COVID-19 situation, and was also transmitted in real time on YouTube channel Dream Future TV.

Mayor Lee Jung hun said, "I hope it will be a good opportunity for children and adolescents to dream of a happy tomorrow and strengthen their capabilities as democratic citizens."
