Have you heard about the community participation budget school? The Resident Participation Budget School has been conducted annually since 2011 to help residents living in Gangdong-gu understand the resident participation budget system and increase participation. In this training, you can listen to various lectures such as understanding the budget and local finances, introducing the participatory budget system, the activities and roles of the residents' participatory budget committee, and how to prepare project proposals. Applicants who can participate in the residents' budget school are Gangdong-gu residents or executives and employees of businesses in the jurisdiction, and 50 people are recruited on a first-come, first-served basis. The application period is approximately two months from Wednesday, March 2, 2022 to Friday, April 22, 2022. There are three ways to apply. First, you can access the website of Gangdong-gu Office, click the participation communication button, click the participation button, and apply in the resident budget participation room. The second method is to apply for participation by email (jonael@gangdong.go.kr). The last third method is to apply through the fax number of Gangdong-gu Office. As the current situation is not good, education is conducted both online and offline. Online education will be available on the Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal, and offline education will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 15, and second education will be held at the auditorium on the 5th floor of Gangdong-gu Office from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 22. The offline schedule may change due to the re-proliferation of COVID-19, so it would be good to contact the budget department of Gangdong-gu Office. Only those who have taken both online and offline education will be given the opportunity to participate in the budgeting process directly as members of the Gangdong-gu Resident Participation Budget Committee through a lottery.
