Subject Gangdong-gu, Support for the Adoption of Abandoned Animals...Up to 150,000 won.

Gangdong-gu, Seoul, announced on the 28th that it will support the cost of adopting abandoned animals to promote adoption of abandoned animals.

The cost of adopting abandoned animals has been supported since 2019 to reduce the burden on adopters after adoption, such as disease diagnosis kit costs, treatment costs, vaccination costs, neutralization surgery costs, built-in animal registration costs, and beauty. So far, 115 adoptees of dogs and cats have been supported.

Those eligible for support are those who adopted abandoned animals at Gangdong-gu designated animal protection centers and Gangdong Ribbon centers within six months, and can receive support if they receive a sales confirmation from the animal protection center and then treat the items available at the animal hospital.

If the cost of the treatment is more than 250,000 won, 150,000 won will be provided, and if the treatment cost is less than 250,000 won, up to 60% of the treatment cost will be provided. This year, the amount of support for adoption costs is 30.

Adopters who want to apply for adoption support can submit a receipt, adoption confirmation, and an adoption support invoice to the adopted animal protection center or Gangdong-gu Office's social economy department and pet team.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, "Gangdong-gu is taking the lead in improving the awareness of abandoned animals and creating the right pet culture through the country's first organic animal distribution center (Ribbon)," adding, "We will make more efforts to create a culture where animals and people coexist and respect life."
