Subject Gangdong-gu, the 2021 Giriul Light Festival is opening.

A beautiful light festival is held to embroider winter nights. Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung hun) will hold the 2021 Giriul Light Festival at Dalnim Children's Park until the 26th. Hosted by the Gildong Residents' Association, the event will be decorated with colorful lights for three weeks, starting with the lighting ceremony on the 8th, beautifully embroidering the winter night at the end of the year-end.
The first day of the festival, where the lighting ceremony was held, began with a talent donation performance by local residents. While many residents enjoyed the atmosphere of the festival, the colorful lighting performance caught the attention of many. As soon as the everyday space on one side of the neighborhood turned into a new space that provides healing and attractions, a light of hope and comfort were delivered to all residents who had a hard year due to COVID-19.

Dalnim Children's Park, where the Light Festival is held, is also equipped with a photo zone to remember the festival with family, lovers, or precious people. Lighting facilities such as neon signs with themes, Milky Way lights, and sparkling snowflake-type luminaries create a dreamy atmosphere, further raising the year-end atmosphere. The lighting time is from sunset to 11 p.m.

Choi Chun-soo, chairman of the Community Service, who hosted the event, said, "We will reduce the event this year due to COVID-19, but we will plan more various festivals next year to provide a venue for all local residents who have not met before to get along."

Lee Jung hun, mayor of Gangdong-gu District Office, attended the event and said, "I hope you will spend the end of the year and New Year happily with your precious people," adding, "I hope this festival will give you the strength to overcome the crisis and dream of returning to your daily life."
