Subject Ballet show 'Don Quijote' is performed at Gangdong Art Centre

Ballet show 'Don Quijote' will be performed at Gangdong Art Centre for two days starting on November 12th, planned by Gangdong Cultural Foundation.


This show is based on the adventure story of Don Quijote, which consists of choreography based on the love story of Kitri and Basilio, but will emphasize just aspects of Don Quijote by new choreography which supplements the importance of Don Quijote, differentiating the composition of story and characters.


Kim Jiyoung, the former principal dancer of National Ballet Company and currently a professor in Kyounghee university, Jung Yeoungjae, the former principal dancer of National Ballet Company and currently a professor in Chungnam university, Kim Yoojin, the former ballerina at Universal Ballet Company, Yoonbyeol, the former ballerina at Uruguay Ballet company and numerous other ballerinos and ballerinas who are currently working actively make an appearance in this very show.


M Ballet company, which will perform for this show, was founded taking 'establishment of identity of Korean Ballet' as a motto, and is currently working actively based on its unique repertory of creative ballet, leaded by art director Moon Byeongnam. Art director Moon Byeongnam is famous for his dramatic ballet with various attractions and fun stories.


Lee Jaehoon, the president of Gangdong cultural foundation said "We are pleased to create an environment where public institutions and private organizations can cooperate together.", and expected "Through high-quality works produced based on a stable environment and the stage of the nation's best dancers, we will revitalize the performance industry, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19."
