Subject Gangdong-gu opened the "Cross Castle Senior Citizens' Room".

A small "senior Sarangbang" in the basement of the Dong Community Center has been reborn as an independent building. Grandfathers and grandmothers who shared a space and rested will also be able to use independent spaces divided by floor in the future.

Gangdong-gu, Seoul, announced on the 5th that it opened on the 4th after completing the construction of a new "Gurip Crossing Senior Sarangbang" on the 24th of Sangam-ro 28-gil. The Cross-Sided Senior Sarangbang has been located on the first basement floor of the Cheonho 1-dong Community Center, but Gangdong-gu bought a nearby building and created a new senior Sarangbang to promote convenience and secure safety for the elderly.

Cross-legged Senior Sarangbang, with a total floor area of 289.5㎡ and three stories above the ground, has created separate spaces for grandmothers and grandfathers on the second and third floors, respectively, and Gangdong Senior Club Counseling Cafés have been installed on the first floor. A district official explained, "We have created a pleasant leisure culture space that can be used not only by the elderly but also by local residents."

The building went through consulting on the Seoul Metropolitan Government's cognitive health design project in 2021 for the elderly's cognitive health, and created various contents for physical reinforcement and emotional stability in each space. In particular, it is designed as a safe, well-read, and environment that can promote five senses for the elderly with cognitive impairment.

Mayor Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "As it has been created as a pleasant leisure space where not only the elderly but also local residents can relax, we hope that local residents will pay a lot of attention and use it.
