Subject Gangdong-gu is promoting the "Hope Stepping Stone Fund" fundraising project in earnest.

Gangdong-gu District Office (mayor Lee Jung hun) announced on the 25th that it is seeking to raise the Hope Stepping Stone Fund, which is operated for the first time in the country.

In September, the district revised related ordinances to expand the scope and use of the Hope Stepping Fund to support the independent lives of the poor and vulnerable who are suffering from economic difficulties in the region.

In addition to a fine of up to KRW 3 million in fines, it can be used as a self-reliance support for low-income residents in crisis and as a self-reliance support for children who end protection of social welfare facilities.

Accordingly, the district has set the intensive fundraising period from the 5th to the 12th of next month (November) and is conducting fundraising activities.

This year's fundraising target is 30 million won.

The fund raised will be paid to those selected in January 2022 after recommendation, survey, and deliberation by the deliberation committee of the community center and the department in charge of welfare-related affairs.

An official from Gangdong-gu said, "Currently, fundraising activities are actively underway with the interest of many local residents."

On the 20th, Samju T&B Co., Ltd., located in the region, donated 15 million won.

In addition to this donation, Samju T&B Co., Ltd., located in Seongnae-dong, has been steadily supporting sharing activities for residents in need in the region, actively participating in the Hope Ondol Warm Wintering Project since 2017.

Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "We will do our best to operate the Hope Stepping Stone Fund so that the donations raised can be provided to residents in need."
