Subject Gangdong-gu will hold an agreement ceremony with Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, a home treatment cooperative hospital for the phased recovery of "With COVID-19".

Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Jung-hun) announced on the morning of October 20 (Wed) that they held an agreement ceremony with Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital for stable treatment and health management of COVID-19 home treatment patients.

Existing patients were hospitalized or admitted to life treatment centers, but this is a system that receives treatment and health care at home in order to change the quarantine system due to phased recovery.

However, those eligible for home treatment can be expanded to asymptomatic and mild confirmed patients under the age of 70 without hospitalization factors (consciousness disorder, shortness of breath, uncontrollable fever, dialysis patients, cancer patients, and other mental illness) and will be approved if they agree.

Home treatment kits will be provided to those subject to home treatment, and basic quarantine supplies such as thermometer, oxygen saturation meter, oral medicine (thermal analgesic control), hand sanitizer will be provided.

Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital organizes medical personnel with internal medicine doctors and nurses for home treatment and checks their health status twice a day. In addition, they maintain a 24-hour emergency contact system to decide whether to transfer the patients whose symptoms are getting worse to hospitals or residential treatment centers through non-face-to-face treatment by medical staff.

Also, the public health center will form a team dedicated to home treatment to establish a 24-hour emergency contact system, support all necessary matters for health care of the subjects, and respond quickly to emergencies and transfers.

Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "We expect the agreement to reduce the severe morbidity rate (the rate of switching to severe patients among confirmed patients) and provide emotional stability for patients due to home treatment.", and “The district will continue to do its best to prepare for a step-by-step daily recovery for the transition to the WITH Corona era.”
