Subject Gangdong-gu held an agreement ceremony with Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, a cooperative hospital for at-home treatment for 'With Corona' step-by-step daily recovery

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung hun) announced that on the morning of October 20 (Wednesday), they held an agreement ceremony with Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital for stable treatment and health management of home-treated patients with COVID-19.

Existing confirmed patients were admitted to hospitals or living treatment centers, but in order to switch the quarantine system to a gradual daily recovery, it is a system in which patients with COVID-19 receive treatment and health care at home until they are allowed to get out of their houses.

However, home treatment subjects have been expanded from the existing limited allowance to asymptomatic and mild confirmed cases under the age of 70 who do not have hospitalization factors (impaired consciousness, dyspnea, uncontrolled fever, dialysis patients, cancer patients, and other mentally ill patients, etc.) It can be complied with and is approved if the person agrees to it.

Home treatment kits are provided to those eligible for home treatment, and basic quarantine items such as a thermometer, oxygen saturation meter, oral medicine (antipyretic analgesic) and hand sanitizer are provided.

Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital organizes medical personnel of internists and nurses for home treatment and checks the health status twice a day. In addition, by maintaining a 24-hour emergency contact system, in case of worsening symptoms, it is decided whether the patient needs to be transferred to a hospital or living treatment center through non-face-to-face treatment by medical staff.

In addition, the public health center forms a team dedicated to home treatment, establishes a 24-hour emergency contact system, supports all matters necessary for patient health management, and responds promptly to emergency situations and transfers.

Lee Jung hun, mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “Through this agreement, we expect to reduce the severe morbidity rate (the rate of conversion of confirmed patients to severe patients) through the rapid judgment of professional medical staff and provide emotional stability to patients through home treatment. We will do our best to ensure that there is no setback in preparing for the step-by-step recovery of daily life for the transition of the times.”
