Subject Gangdong-gu will hold a pet love festival.

Gangdong-gu, Seoul, held the 2021 Pet Love Festival with families and pets adopting abandoned animals such as UCC contests and photo exhibitions under the theme of "RE:BORN Born Again" on the 2nd.

On the occasion of World Animal Day (October 4th) and the Pet Love Festival, nine works were selected for the second round of screening on 19 works submitted until September 10 at the "UCC Video Contest" held for the first time this year.

According to the district on the 6th, the grand prize was won by the Brave Dog An Soon-dol, who adopted two abandoned dog brothers and comforted each other's wounds and told the story of a happy family life, and the grand prize was won by wandering dog Soon-dol.

The "Organic Animal Photo Exhibition," which will be held from the 2nd to the 7th, also opened at Gangdong-gu Office's Open Garden Square and the cafe space of the second government building.

The photo exhibition in the open garden showed abandoned dogs waiting for adoption at Gangdong Ribbon Center, happy images of being adopted and with their families, and stories of various pet culture education policies.

In addition, in the exhibition space set up in the cafe space of the second government building, photos of abandoned cats protected by the "Miu Cat Protection Association" volunteer group at the "Gil Cat Eoul Shelter" were intensively displayed.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hoon said, "Gangdong-gu has been holding the Pet Love Festival since 2016 to communicate with pets and create a culture of respect for animal life," adding, "The Abandoned Animal Photo Exhibition will be held until the 7th, so residents who have not yet visited the district office."
