Subject Gangdong-gu holds a photo exhibition for abandoned animals.

Gangdong-gu (mayor Lee Jung hun) held the ‘2021 Pet Love Festival’ with families who adopted abandoned animals and pet owners on Saturday, October 2, which will contain UCC contests and photo exhibitions under the theme of "RE:BORN Born Again."

At the ‘UCC Video Contest for Abandoned Animals,’ which was held for the first time this year for World Animal Day and the Pet Love Festival on October 4 (Mon), 9 works were selected after the second screening of 19 works submitted until September 10 (Fri).

The grand prize was won by the Yonggamdangam Team, which told the story of a happy family comforting each other's wounds after adopting two abandoned dog brothers who lost their mother, and the Best Prize was won by wandering dog Soon-dol.

The photo exhibition, which will be held from October 2 (Sat) to 7 (Thu), also opened at Gangdong-gu Office's Open Garden Square and the cafe space of the second government building.

The photo exhibition in the Open Garden Square contains pictures of abandoned dogs waiting for adoption at Gangdong Reborn Center, happy dogs of being adopted and with their families, and stories of various pet culture education policies.

In addition, in the exhibition space set up in the cafe space of the second government building, photos of abandoned tombs protected by the "Miu Cat Protection Association" volunteer group at the "Street Cat Shelter" were mainly displayed.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, "Gangdong-gu has been holding the 'Pet Love Festival' since 2016 to create a culture of communication between pet owners and others with respect for animal life," adding, "The 'Pet Photo Exhibition' will be held until October 7th (Thurs), so residents who have not yet seen it should visit the district office."
