Gangdong-gu announced on the 13th that the online educational content "Gangdong Smart Campus," which crosses the boundaries between regions and schools in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, is proceeding smoothly with the keen interest of students across the country. Gangdong Smart Campus is a real-time online major and career class where not only high school students in Gangdong-gu but also students from all over the country can participate together at the same time without restrictions on region and distance by utilizing e-studios and real-time remote learning platforms in Gangdong-gu. The district promoted this program to establish a public education safety net so that students can receive high-quality education even when the educational gap between regions and schools is widening due to COVID-19. Since May, it has started operating in six cities, 25 high schools, and 6,000 students nationwide. In particular, in the fifth round held on the 10th, students dreaming of entering the education field were able to explore their careers and majors, as well as listen to vivid advice from Professor Eom Moon-young, an expert with more than 30 years of experience in the education field ahead of the application period next year. For students who failed to participate in real-time, the district plans to publish a lecture video of Gangdong Smart Campus on the Gangdong Integrated Education Portal scheduled to be built in the second half of this year so that they can learn repeatedly anytime and anywhere, and expand the target of Gangdong Smart Campus to middle school students next year.
