Subject Gangdong-gu, "Sometimes at Art Museum, hearts flutter for a while."

An open art museum called "Sometimes at Art Museum, hearts flutter for a while." which operates Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung hun) as an exhibition space for artworks, is holding its third work exhibition this year.

Since March last year, Gangdong-gu has been operating an open art museum where you can enjoy culture and art closely without having to go to an art museum far away by turning the corridor of the district office into an art exhibition space. In the COVID-19 era, it has established itself as a representative healing art museum in Gangdong-gu by healing and comforting the tired hearts of residents.

This year, under the theme of Coexistence, each floor of Gangdong-gu Office's main building is exhibiting "Abstract/Conception" (2nd floor), "Oriental/Western" (3rd floor), "Photo/Painting/Shaping" (4th floor), and "Coexistence" (5th floor). Through exhibitions, it shows that it is important for our lives to live together through the harmony of individuality and diversity of artworks.

In this third exhibition, 50 works by Koo Chae-yeon, Kim Sun-soo, Song Seung-ho, Song Ji-yeon, Oh Man-cheol, Lee Dong-yeon, Lee Taek-geun, Jang Sang-chul, Jeon Jong-chul, and Cho Jae-ik, who are actively engaged in the Korean contemporary art world, will be appreciated until January 9 next year.

Lee Jung hun, mayor of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "This exhibition resembles the "coexistence" of our Gangdong-gu residents who take care of and solidarity with needy neighbors in a difficult situation due to COVID-19.“
”I hope our precious daily lives will be restored as soon as possible, and I hope the open art museum will be a gift-like space where you can feel hope and comfort“, he said.

Gangdong-gu Office Open Art Museum runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and other details can be obtained from Gangdong-gu Office General Affairs Department (☎02-3425-5093).
