Subject Gangdong-Gu Opened 2021 Dementia-Friendly Symposium

Gangdong-gu opened the 2021 Dementia-Friendly Symposium online on the 24th of September.
This symposium was held by the Seoul Metropolitan Center For Dementia on the purpose of building a safety system for dementia with the integration of the local society. Discussions for how to make it possible went by, making details for the dementia patients living alone or in poverty. The online live was conducted at the Seoul Metropolitan Center For Dementia's youtube channel, starting from 2 p.m and lasting for about two hours.
The participants volunteered through the official homepage of the Seoul Metropolitan Center For Dementia or by making a call. They received the lecture research by their e-mails in advance. Participating right by online was possible, too.
The first section of the symposium was about making a cooperation system on ensuring rights for dementia patients by the construction of a dementia safety net system. It included discussions on the cooperation of official and unofficial centers for dementia, and about the official care system. Cheif Kim Ki-Jung from the Central Dementia Center, Shin Yong-Suk from the Seoul Metropolitan Center For Dementia, and Sung Mi-Sun from the elderly care center of Gangdong participated as pannels.
The second section was held with Song Hong-ki(chief of the Gangdong-gu Dementia Care Center)'s presentation about the topic, later followed by Q&A time with the other pannels.
Mayor Lee Jung hun of Gandong-gu stated, "I hope the symposium becomes a chance for our local citizens to rightfully understand about dementia, and for our society to become into a dementia-friendly one that can co-exist with the families of dementia patients."
