Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung hun) is now receiving additional applications of regions hoping to be provided with a free support of RFID machine. An RFID machine improves the circumstance of disposal of food waste and helps residents actually feel the reduction of food waste by imposing charges in a more objective way of calculating the amount of emission of each household than calculating the amount of each housing complex. Multi unit dwellings (more than 30 households) hoping to apply for the free support of RFID machines should submit copies of resolution paper of resident representative meetings to the department of garbage disposal of Gangdong-gu by mail or in person. General house (more than 9 households with at least 2㎡ of extra space within property) hoping to apply for the free support of RFID machines should submit the application paper and consent form of all the residents to the department of garbage disposal of Gangdong-gu by mail or in person. When selected, expenses for the installation and maintenance of RFID machines will be provided free, except for fees of electricity and communication. Fees for the multi unit dwellings for the disposal of food waste will be charged collectively as management expenses in the next month, and general houses can charge transportation cards provided by Gangdong-gu and use it as a way of payment.
