Iljasan Mountain Herb Astronomy Park is close to Iljasan Mountain Natural Park and has jogging courses, trails, and prospect decks, which are comfortably used by citizens of various ages from children to the elderly. At Herb Astronomy Park, the representative healing attraction of Gangdong-gu, recently visited again, there were 25 new sculptures welcoming people among the herbs. Herb Astronomy Park (25500 square meters) is a beautiful park with 180 kinds of herbs and trees. Herb Astronomy Park, which opened in 2006, is still growing. Photo zones and frame gardens were added in 2016, prospect decks in 2018, and experience learning centers were built in 2019, making it more attractive and enjoyable as the years go by. To the east of the park, there is an observatory where you can enjoy the sunrise, and to the west, there is an observatory where you can enjoy the sunset. In particular, 282 colorful constellation lights are installed on the floor of the park for night users to enjoy the ever-changing constellations. This floor lighting is a 75m-diameter astronomical map that is completely transferred to the park floor. If you look from the east and west observatories, you can enjoy the North Star, the constellations of Kyunwoo and Jingnyuh, and it is also a perfect date course for young people. This year, there is a new and unique sight to see here where you feel and experience space and nature. If you walk along the park's path, you will see sculptures that go well with herbs. The chair-shaped sculpture, which looks like a huddle of people, and the sculpture of a woman waiting to be held in someone's arms, provide comfortable seats to rest. There are also a sculpture of a puppy that protects happiness by preventing bad and evil from entering the park, a mother cow and calf who talk affectionately each other, and a lucky pig family who goes on a picnic. Also, you can see a statue of a mother, a father and a baby sitting on a bench happily talking to each other, and it makes people who visit the park with their family smile. Herb Astronomy Park with the sculptures under the theme of dreams, healing, and love in nature full of herb scents, you can feel nature, relax, heal the mind and body, and enjoy art. The sculptures here are the works of a sculptor named Han Jinseop, who breathes warmth into uneven and cold stones. A total of 25 sculptures, including 11 works made of granite, were exhibited. You can touch stones, and experience sitting down, relaxing, and becoming a part of the work, which makes you feel the sculptures more friendly. Due to the ongoing covid-19 outbreak, chances of enjoying cultural arts have decreased and tired minds are getting sick.
