Gang Dong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung Hun) announced that it would support 2/3 of the cost of the purchase cost (30%) of the cost of the diabetes management device for type 1 diabetes patients for the first time in the country. Type 1 diabetes is a type of diabetes that occurs because the pancreas does not secrete insulin. Unlike type 2 diabetes, which mainly occurs in adults, it mainly occurs in children and requires lifelong insulin injections. The difficulty of directly injecting insulin and the burden of purchasing expensive diabetes management devices act as obstacles in diabetes management. Gang Dong-gu is the first in the country to reduce the economic burden of patients and contribute to the improvement of the treatment of type 1 diabetes by subsidizing the cost of purchasing an automatic insulin injector, a blood glucose meter, and a blood glucose sensor, a diabetes management device for type 1 diabetes patients. The target of support is type 1 diabetes patients who purchased a diabetes management device (insulin automatic injector, continuous blood glucose meter, and blood glucose sensor) in 2021 among local residents in Gangdong-gu. Applications are currently being accepted and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget for 2021 is exhausted. To apply, submit necessary documents such as a diagnosis or opinion, a preion for a diabetes management device, an ID card, a copy of resident registration, a purchase receipt, and a copy of a bank account to the Medical Expense Support Office at the public health center. |
