“Gangdong-gu Expands the Operation of Road Sprinklers to Cope with the Heat Wave” Gangdong-gu District (District mayor Lee Jung hun) said that it is making all-out efforts to respond to the heat wave by concentrating spray trucks on roads within its jurisdiction to cool off from the heat wave. Currently, Gamgdong-gu is strengthening the road spraying work in its jurisdiction by mobilizing all five of its own spray vehicles. In addition, four additional private sprinklers will be rented and a total of nine sprinklers will be deployed to clean the roads during August. In particular, spray trucks will be operated mainly at screening clinics and temporary screening laboratories in the jurisdiction so that residents who are waiting for the coronavirus 19 inspection can avoid the heat at all. According to a survey conducted by the Seoul Institute of Health and Environment, when water is sprayed on the road at the highest temperature in the middle of the day, the road surface temperature is reduced by 6.4, and the ambient temperature is 1.5 감소.
