Subject Senior Citizen Education

The Korea Senior Citizen Association Gangdong-gu department conducted a job education program for senior citizens between May 7~28 and June 7~22. The program, held twice, had video tutoring watched by more than 600 people.
Every time, not much more than 20 people participated under the COVID-19 instructions for health, such as wearing masks, washing hands, and checking the temperature. The education place was ventilated, too.
Lectures 1 and 2 provided safety lessons and instructions on avoiding sexual harassment by the Korea Labor Force Development Institution for the aged. Lecture 3 was about dementia with actual testing progressed.
For the safety lessons, information about natural disasters, epidemics, and food poisoning was introduced. People learned about each kind of thing to be aware of season by season, and by infections, they also learned getting healed at the right time was much less painful than the effects that could later come by concealing it. During the sexual education, they were taught how to deal with sexual harassments, and more importantly, not to be the perpetrators.
Even though education was held for a long time, the senior citizens showed great participation till the end. Byeong-Un Kim, the director of the program, complimented the participants for their activities under hygiene and highlighted that the senior citizens were weak in infections. Plus, he noted that work for the senior jobs will be well done until the end under the compliance of safety instructions.
This program is hoped to show great effort in senior citizens learn about society and earn a safe, healthy social perpepective.
