It will be first expanded to five major areas of Gangdong-gu (Myeongil, Amsa, Cheonho, Seongnae, and Gildong) from mid-July, and after that, it will be expanded to all areas within the jurisdiction within the second half of the year.

You can accumulate points by installing an eco-together(eco 2gather) application on your phone and receive compensation in Gangdong-gu local currency by 5,000 won. Gangdong-gu will select the community service center and nearby park as emission sites and operate them from 13:00 to 16:00 every Friday.

As a method of separation and discharge, if the contents are emptied, rinsed, labels are removed, and cleaned enough to be 100% recycled, transparent bottled water bottles can be compensated 10 won, other items can be compensated▲ 70-100 won for plastic ▲ 500 won for aluminum can ▲ 70 won for iron can ▲ 70 won for books ▲ 100 won for milk pack per kg. However, clothing will be excluded from the collection items.

Gangdong-gu conducted a pilot project at the Social Welfare Center in Seongnae since April, and so far, more than 500 residents have used it. Also Gangdong-gu collected ▲ 16,500 bottles ▲ 178Kg of plastic ▲ 160Kg of cans ▲ 800Kg of recycled materials and residents who used this system were rewarded.

By encouraging these systems, residents can increase their awareness of recycling, which is expected to have great effect in the future. Gangdong-gu is now expecting residents to use this system actively and get a great result by implementing this new system.
