Gangdong-gu, small restaurant food waste free collection extended until December. Gangdong-gu District Office announced that it will extend the free collection of food waste from July 1 to December 31 to support small business owners suffering from prolonged corona 19. Eligible for support are general and rest areas with an area of less than 200㎡, and it is estimated that there are about 5,000 places in the jurisdiction. The Gangdong-gu district had implemented free food waste collection at small restaurants since April last year and was scheduled to end on June 30 this year, but decided to extend it to reduce the cost burden as small business owners are expected to further increase with the recent corona virus pandemic in full swing. Through this free food waste collection, it is expected to receive a reduction in food waste emission fees of about 201,600 won per general and rest areas. When discharging food waste from a small restaurant, a payment certificate shall be purchased and attached to a collection container exclusively for food waste and discharged. However, by the end of December this year, food waste can be put into a container for collection without a payment certificate and discharged (excluding Saturdays) from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. "I hope the extension of the free collection period of food waste at small restaurants will be a small help to small business owners who are having a harder time than ever due to the prolonged covid-19 situation," said Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office. |
