From July to September, Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung hun) will run an experience program full of the moon, stars, and herbs at the Herb Astronomical Park small astronomical observatory. Herb Astronomical Park is a representative attraction in Gangdong-gu, located at the foot of Iljasan, and is a must-visit for flower lovers before the hot summer comes. Here, over 100 kinds of herbs such as ‘poppy' and ‘lavender,’ which are representative herbs of spring, are at their peak, and they are dressed in the dazzling colors of nature and presenting the utmost beauty to visitors. At the experiential learning center in Herb Astronomical Park, from July to September, herb experience programs are operated under the two themes of making herbal products using herbal essence (Wednesday) and herb cutting experience (Thursday). Experience making herbal products ▲July: hand sanitizer, natural insect repellent spray, natural insect repellent ointment, herbal salt ▲Aug: natural diffuser, handkerchief dye, natural fabric deodorizers ▲September: Herb ball for poultice using herbs, mask pack, participants can try making various products such as lip balm by themselves. The herb cutting experience provides an opportunity to plant and grow herbs by using herbs directly produced in the cultivation complex. The astronomical observation experience is held every Thursday from 8:00 p.m. until August and 7:30 p.m. in September. ▲July: Milky Way and summer constellations ▲August: Saturn and Mars ▲September: Meteor showers and autumn constellations. You can learn the moon and seasonal constellations that can be observed that day, and you can observe them directly using the observatory. Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, "I hope that residents who are tired of Corona 19 will visit Herb Astronomical Park with their families and lovers to feel the beautiful and fragrant herbs, and participate in the experience program held in the park to create precious memories."
