Gangdong-gu (Chairman Lee Jung-hun) is holding a public contest for residents to participate in the '2nd half of 2021 village community project' to revitalize the village community led by residents by the 23rd. The village community contest project in the second half of 2021 will be conducted in two areas: 'Neighborhood Creation Support Project' and 'Onjeong Village Festival', and support residents who share a common interest in public interest activities to establish and implement plans for community revitalization. The ‘Neighbor Creation Support Project’ is a public competition project to create a happy village by providing support for various small group activities such as childcare, welfare, volunteer work, and culture to communicate with neighbors and solve the needs of daily life. A group of three or more residents who are new to village community projects or a non-profit organization can apply. The ‘Onjeong Village Festival’ supports village festivals led by residents, and is supported by groups of five or more residents or non-profit organizations. Residents who wish to participate can fill out the application form by the 23rd (Fri.) Proposed projects are finally selected through resident participation screening and expert screening, and up to 750,000 won for the neighborhood creation support project and up to 4 million won for the Onjeong Village Festival. For residents who have had activities that they have always wanted to do with their neighbors or wish to plan a village festival such as an exhibition, performance, or experience, now is the opportunity. Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung-hun said, “Gangdong-gu has an increasing influx of new residents due to large-scale reconstruction and housing site development, so the need for a community is greater than ever.
