Subject Gangdong-gu opens 'Gangdong Acorn Market', an eco friendly market with stories

Gangdong-gu opens the first 'Gangdong Acorn Market' this year at Eulmadang in Sangil-dong(in front of Kyunghee University Hospital in Gangdong, 888 Dongnam-to Gangdong-gu) from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday, June 19th.

Gangdong Acorn Market is an eco-friendly marketplace with urban farmers in Gangdong-gu. Urban farmers, residents, producers, and consumers gather together to directly trade eco-friendly agricultural products, local specialties, food, and handicrafts.

Starting with the opening in June of this year, it will be closed in July and August and reopen on September 4 and October 16, expecting a forum for urban-rural coexistence.

Under the theme of “Healthy and Fresh Summer Direct Trade Market,” eco-friendly certified farms, farms cultivating excellent local specialties, local urban agricultural groups, and traditional market cooperatives will participate.

About 25 booths sell agricultural and special products such as vegetables, fruits, flowers, mushrooms, and dried fish, food such as steamed rice cakes and macarons, and handicrafts such as wood crafts, natural soaps, and organic clothing. It will be operated as a space where consumers and producers coexist as consumers can easily purchase reliable products at low prices, so farms affected by COVID-19 can receive sales channels.
In addition, woodcraft experiences such as making an antibacterial cutting board and eco-friendly hand sanitizer will be prepared, and a rich market for residents to enjoy, such as magic performances and giveaways, will also be held.

Gangdong Acorn Market will be operated in accordance with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines such as disinfection and distancing by booth so there is no need to worry about COVID-19.
