Gangdong-gu District (District mayor Lee Jung hun) said it would start the "The Gangdong Dream" project to five major areas (Myeongil, Amsa, Cheonho, Seongnae and Gildong) from mid July and expand to all the areas in Gangdong-gu District. in the second semester. The project is being carried out as a pilot project for resource virtuous cycle through proper discharge and collection of recyclables.

“Gangdong The Dream” is a combination of "The" meaning more or addition and "Dream" meaning "giving," and is compensating for oil prices to increase the voluntary participation of residents and the collection rate of recyclables.

It is a system that can accumulate points by installing eco-together applications on mobile phones. Points accumulated may be rewarded in Gangdong-gu local currency in units of 5,000 won.

For the convenience of residents participating in the project, the community center and nearby parks will be selected as emission sites and will be operated from 13:00 to 16:00 every Friday.
