Subject Announcement of a letter of recommendation for direct connection between the Gangdong-Hanam section of GTX-D with Hanam City

Gangdong-gu District (District mayor Lee Jung hun) announced in front of the National Assembly at 3 p.m. on the 16th (Wednesday) that it will jointly hold an event calling for the connection of the GTX-D route "Gimpo-Bucheon-Gangdong-Hanam" with residents' representatives.

In the meantime, the district has conducted a resident signature campaign in March and August 20 to attract more than 100,000 residents, implemented its own "GTX-D Introduction Research Service" and proposed GTX-D to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

However, residents' anger and disappointment have been great since the GTX-D (West Regional Express Railway) route was reduced to the Gimpo Janggi-Bucheon Stadium" section at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 4th National Rail Network Construction Plan (PLAN) public hearing on April 22. Shortly after the public hearing by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the district has actively expressed its opposition by pointing out problems with the reduction of routes and officially protesting.

On May 12, about 20 members of the Joint Promotion Committee of the GTX-D Route in Gangdong-gu, Hanam Mayor Kim Sang-ho, and residents' representatives protested the reduction of the GTX-D route and the GTX-D route.

In addition, the district proposed a joint response of 25 autonomous districts and the Seoul Metropolitan Government to reflect the GTX-D route at the Seoul Metropolitan Council on May 20, and will strongly suggest working together to connect the GTX-D Seoul section as soon.

Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu, said, "The announcement of the GTX-D route, which was an alternative to population growth and soaring metropolitan transportation difficulties, does not take into account traffic congestion, economy, and balanced regional development."
