Gangdong-gu District (District mayor Lee Jung hun) will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. on July 2 at the auditorium on the fifth floor of Gangdong-gu District Office to hear opinions from residents and related experts on the "Seoul Gangdong-gu Landscape Plan." The public hearing is a place to set the basic principles and goals of landscape management that Gangdong-gu should pursue in the future and present mid- and long-term plans for systematic management and preservation of natural, historical and cultural resources held by Gangdong-gu. The Gangdong-gu landscape plan, which will be established for the first time in Seoul's autonomous region after the revision of the landscape law, aims to balance the landscape area with the general management area to cope with urban change. In addition, it consists of specific elements to have the implementation power of landscape management, such as landscape projects, landscape agreements, landscape guidelines, and landscape deliberation. Public hearings will be held in the order of announcement of key contents of the landscape plan, expert discussion and question and answer. Professor Joo Shin-ha of Seoul Women's University will head the discussion, while Yang Pyeong-ho, chairman of the Gangdong-gu Council's construction and finance committee, Choi Joon-hee, Gangdong-gu police commissioner, Lee Seok-hyun, Chung-Ang University professor, and Wi Jae-joon. This public hearing will be held as an offline event by limiting the number of attendees due to the distance between COVID-19. Gu residents and related experts who wish to attend the public hearing shall submit an application for advance attendance at the public hearing by the 30th. The residents and related experts who cannot attend in person can access the landscape plan on the Gangdong-gu Office website after July 2, and if they have any opinions, they can submit their opinions by fax or e-mail by July 9. Gangdong-gu will gather opinions presented at the public hearing and various opinions from residents and experts by July 9 to establish a Gangdong-gu landscape plan in a reasonable and desirable direction.
