Subject Gangdong-gu, full-scale operation of the Gangdong Living Culture Center; yegam

A new concept of Gang Dong Active Culture Center has begun full-scale operation to foster cultural personnel in Gangdong-gu.

Gangdong-gu District (mayor Lee Jung hun) announced on the 11th that it is operating Gang Dong Active Culture Center, a cultural and artistic hub that realizes the revitalization of local culture through art.

Gang Dong Active Culture Center is the first living and cultural center in Gangdong-gu.
On the second floor, there is a community meeting space for revitalizing local artists and living culture, and a practice room underground.

The Living Culture Center is a living SOC facility that is a community space where local cultural subjects such as living culture clubs and local artists meet and communicate freely, while also helping residents enjoy cultural life freely.

"We will boldly break away from the concept of existing facilities and develop lecture programs and cultural planning programs that create links between community revitalization of local artists and resident-centered living and cultural clubs," said Han Hee-jung, head of the Culture and Arts Division in Gangdong-gu.

Starting in June, it plans to run a program to support the revitalization of living culture in connection with the Gangdong Cultural Foundation, and hold cultural planning lectures to strengthen cultural competence of local residents in July.

In addition, it will play a role as a "Gangdong-type complex cultural space" where local artists and residents can participate together, including planning community programs that involve residents and the Gucheon-myeon Festival.

It will provide residents in the form of general rental facilities as well as the operation of the program.

The community room on the second floor and the hangout space are designed to allow residents to have daily meetings and meetings, and the underground practice room is also notable as a space for local artists and residents to practice comfortably with some soundproof facilities.

"It is expected to be the basis for creating the cultural city of Gangdong through the Gang-dong Active Culture Center, a community revitalization space," said Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office. "In the future, the district will continue to expand facilities that can be easily used by residents to create a foundation for cultural enjoyment."
