Subject Gangdong ‘Dotori’ Marketplace

Gangdong-gu will hold the Gangdong ‘Dotori’ Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 19 (Saturday). This market, which will be held for the first time this year, will be held in Sangil-dong Oulmadang (888 Dongnam-ro, Gangdong-gu, in front of Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital)
The name of this market, ‘Dotori’, has a narrative. "Do" means urban farmers in Gangdong-gu. "To" means to be with you on Saturday. "Ri" refers to an eco-friendly marketplace with a story.
Urban farmers, residents, producers and consumers gather together to directly trade eco-friendly agricultural products, local specialties, food and handicrafts. Starting with the opening in June this year, July and August will be closed before reopening on September 4 and October 16. This marketplace is expected to be a venue for win-win exchanges between urban and rural areas.
The theme is "Healthy and Fresh Summer Direct Marketplace." Eco-friendly certified farms, excellent local specialty farmers, urban agricultural organizations in the region, and traditional market cooperatives will participate.
About 25 booths sell agricultural and special products such as vegetables, fruits, flower, mushrooms, dried fish, food such as steamed rice cakes and macaroons, and handicrafts such as woodcraft, natural soap, and organic clothing. Consumers can easily purchase reliable products at a low price, and farms affected by Covid-19 can be offered a market, which will operate as a space where consumers and producers coexist. There will also be woodworking experience such as cutting board making and eco-friendly hand sanitizer making experience. In addition, there are plenty of programs prepared for residents to enjoy together, such as magic performances and gifts.
Gangdong ‘Dotori’ Market will be operated in accordance with the Covid-19 quarantine guidelines, including disinfection and distancing by booth. It will also operate in strict compliance with safety rules such as food packaging and food ban in venues.
