Subject Gangdong-gu,'Rehabilitation for the disabled, join the public health center'

With the prolonged spread of COVID-19, health care and rehabilitation movements for the disabled are becoming more difficult. Accordingly, Gangdong-gu is operating a non-face-to-face yoga & pilates program for the disabled who need continuous health care.

This program is a tour guidance project of the Seoul Sports Association for the Disabled. It invites professional instructors in each field of yoga and pilates to reduce activities outside the home and improve the physical function of the disabled through social isolation.

In consideration of the health status of the disabled, they visit each home to provide advance guidance on how to install and participate in the ZOOM, and support them to participate in the program, and through interactive live broadcasting, they can understand and communicate the needs of each target so that they can participate in the program in real time with the correct attitude. It focuses on giving guidance.

The operation schedule will be held every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 am to 10:30 am, until July 30th, and will be operated by switching to a face-to-face program when the health care center business resumes.

In addition, Gangdong-gu plans to hold the “Early Dementia Detection and Prevention Education” program for early detection of dementia at 11 o’clock on Tuesday, June 8th.

Lee Jung hun, the head of Gangdong-gu, said, “Through this project, the district aims to improve the health status of the medically vulnerable groups, which may be neglected due to the prolonged COVID-19, and to help improve self-health management ability.” We will do our best to promote the health of the disabled by continuing to provide programs.
