Subject 'Indirect Experience' at a local bookstore...Gangdong-gu, establishment of a book lending system

Gangdong-gu, Seoul has been offering a "Hope Bookstore Baro Loan" service since the 23rd of last month, which allows residents to borrow books they want to see from local bookstores.

A district official said, "We have completed preparations for the service by establishing a book loan system with eight local bookstores to provide the service."

Persons eligible for use shall be members of the Gangdong-gu Integrated Library and may borrow up to two books per month. You can access the website of the Gangdong-gu Integrated Library, designate a nearby neighborhood bookstore from the "Neighborhood Bookstore Baro Loan" menu, and apply for a loan of the desired book by text message.

The loan period is 14 days after receiving the book, and you can return the book to the bookstore where you borrowed it. However, applications for test-takers, workbooks, and comic books, which are inappropriate for books and public library books that already have several books in the Gangdong-gu library, will be restricted.

Because it is so popular, you can receive books faster with the "Bottom Bookstore Baro Loan" service, which is a bestseller waiting to borrow books from the library.

It is expected that the "Hope Bookstore Baro Loan" service can reduce the waiting time for book loans, and office workers who usually have difficulty visiting the library can borrow books they want from local bookstores instead of libraries.

"We are expanding the book lending service along with the library construction project so that anyone in the district can enjoy the book service anytime, anywhere," said Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office. "We will do our best to enjoy the culture of Gangdong-gu residents in the future."
