Subject First opening of Gangdong Flea Market

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) opened the first Gangdong flea market this year at Eulmadang in Sangil-dong (in front of Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital) on the 8th.

Gangdong Flea Market is the largest flea market in Gangdong-gu, celebrating its 14th anniversary this year, as a place for harmony between families and neighbors by spreading an eco-friendly and sustainable culture of sharing, not just a marketplace where used goods are traded.

Since last year, it has been struggling to operate a flea market due to Corona 19, but the scale was reduced and opened to preserve the culture of sharing and communication that has been cherished for many years and revitalize the shrinking local economy.

The flea market held this time has programs that can be enjoyed by both men and women of all ages, such as 'making carnations', 'experiences in making creations,' and 'a magical magic show' under the theme of 'family' in celebration of Family Month in May. It got a great response.

On the 22nd, the Gangdong Flea Market, where families participate in the Gangdong Family Festival, will be held in the open garden of Gangdong-gu Office.

The Gangdong Flea Market is held on the second and fourth Saturday of the month from May to October, and is closed during the hot weather (July-August) and during the prehistoric culture festival (2nd week of October).

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung-hun said, “The Gangdong Flea Market is worth more than an economic effect in that residents communicate with each other and create a culture of sharing and donation.
